In this method, the agent who has the least talk-time is detected, and the new call in the call queue is directed to the agent. Talk-time Call Distributionįor ensuring that each agent works within a same time amount, talk-time call distribution can be used. If you think that your company is full of experienced, equipped, and quick call center agents, you can prefer to utilize this call distribution method. Like in this example, a constant agent order is followed in this method. For example, calls go to the first agent on the list, and they go to the second agent on the list if the first one is busy. In this call distribution type, call center agents are found in a fixed order, and callers are distributed according to this order. The below mentioned types of called distribution can assort with companies which have different properties, so these call distribution methods should be chosen with the consideration of the circumstances of companies. If you want to learn and choose the best type of call distribution for your company, you can get necessary information about these types below. Companies can select among these call distribution types by considering the features of the businesses. Moreover, different types of call distribution can be considered to direct callers to agents. In this step, the information about callers that are collected in the previous steps is used. The last step is the distribution of callers to appropriate call center agents. In addition to these order factors, there can be VIP callers, and these callers get the priority to reach a call center agent. The order of callers in the list is determined by callers’ status, waiting time, query, and so on. With the consideration of the availability of agents, a waiting list which covers callers is prepared in the second step, so this step is called call queueing. With the help of Caller ID Systems, ACD can decide the most appropriate agent who can deal with the caller’s issue. Also, Caller ID Systems can be used in this step to perceive important details about customers, such as their language and location. Caller Information and Identificationįirstly, the goal of the customer for calling the center is detected with IVR. The last step is call distribution in which the callers are distributed to appropriate call center agents, and different types of call distribution can be considered in this step. The second step is call queueing in which a proper waiting list of the callers is established. The first step is caller identification in which necessary information about the callers are gathered. The work process of ACD can be explained in three steps briefly.

![]() Cover is still king, but you’re encouraged to zip about the environment in search of it rather than turtling and hoping the arch-reaver’s hit points run out before yours.Įnvironmental features like exploding barrels not only honour the hallowed FPS that inspired Jupiter Hell, but also amplify this sense of dynamic movement. Similarly, your chance to dodge increases the more you move around, giving Jupiter Hell a dancey sort of upbeat rhythm. To discourage you from stumbling into oncoming fire you’ve got a pain meter, which gradually increases with the damage you take and saddles you with an accuracy penalty that recedes once you dodge or take cover. ![]() Whereas the slow pace of classic roguelikes is set by the need to get close enough to a kobold to thump it in its stupid kobold face, the long-range shooty gun combat of Jupiter Hell takes a little more getting used to. Rockets are big and noisy and kill pretty much everything, but fire one from behind cover and you risk clipping a wall and exploding yourself into many hot ribbons of lightly singed meat. Revolvers are accurate, but have limited ammo capacity and need to be reloaded bullet by bullet. Shotguns, for example, will cut through multiple possessed grunts if they’re standing next to one another, but as they need to be reloaded after each round you don’t want to miss with your opening shot. ![]() Almost every action from firing your gun, reloading or just switching between weapons incurs a time cost, so anticipating what might be behind the next locked door makes a difference to how things pan out. ![]() How you approach rooms is determined by the kinds of baddies you encounter and the type of weapon you’ve currently got equipped. And it’s tile-based, so you move from cover to cover like you’re a rampaging chess piece, trying to position yourself in the most tactically advantageous square that you can. It’s a roguelike, so level layouts are randomised, death is permanent and enemies only move when you do. Now set on the moons of Jupiter, which are absolutely nothing like the moons of Mars, it has you battling through descending levels of increasingly demon-shagged yet legally distinct science labs, corrupted mines and space ports. Jupiter Hell is way less lawyer-baiting and far prettier than the game that spawned it. But only in one could you go and make yourself a tofurkey sandwich while standing in a room full of cacodemons. In both, a keen sense of situational awareness and tactical positioning were critical to not getting popped in the face by a demonic fireball. DoomRL contrasted the apparent mindlessness of Doom’s frantic demon slaughtering with the more methodical, chin-stroking nature of roguelikes, and in doing so found some common ground between them. Such spontaneous pettiness could never happen in Jupiter Hell, a roguelike and sequel to the slightly more cease-and-desisty DoomRL, which ported the classic run and gun shooter into a top-down, slowed-down and turn-based format. On Saturday evening, for example, I poured two thirds of my pint into a man’s brogue because he was very annoying. No, it is better to never consider the consequences of your actions, and to live life as an unrelated series of fluke accidents and bad mistakes driven by the misfiring impulses of your idiot brain. By fifteen I would be many thousands of years old inside my skull, an ancient god trapped inside his own decaying mind, having spent a few millenia here and there trying to think of which words, when spoken in the right order, would make me seem cool in front of an older boy. At age three I would become wracked with decision paralysis for two centuries next to some swings. In practice, the ability to pause time for a think would be a kind of living hell. Often I think my life would be better if it operated as a roguelike, where I could wait as long as I needed before every step I took, to consider all possible moves before committing to one. Perhaps the most common is the chromatic tuner. There are three main types of guitar tuner and each one operates a little differently. (Image credit: D'Addario) Which clip-on guitar tuner is right for me? While most clip-ons should be okay for all finishes, it’s always best to check it is suitable for your guitar’s finish before taking the plunge. ![]() Now, a quick word of caution if you own a vintage acoustic or a very high-end instrument with a delicate nitrocellulose lacquer finish: some manufacturers, such as Snark, recommend that you don’t use them with fine finishes. And if everyone is using the same tuner, then you’re all tuning to the same standard and your jam sessions will be even more harmonious. Share it with your bandmates if you have a ukulele or bass guitar player in your ranks, it will tune them up, too. You can keep it in your case or in some cases your pocket. Using a clip-on guitar tuner takes out another variable in your signal chain you won’t need another patch cable, it’s less cable to go through, and if you’ve got a long and complicated signal chain there’s fewer worries about high-end roll-off or other neurotic considerations that keep guitarists awake at night.Īnother practical consideration, and we’re definitely not cork-sniffing here, is that the clip-on guitar tuner is portable, typically taking a lithium-ion battery. There are other advantages besides pedalboard space. The clip-on tuner could make that a reality. Removing the tuner would free up some valuable real estate for, ooh, an analog delay pedal, for example. Of course, you could stay in tune with a pedal tuner, or with a fancy rack-mounted unit like the Korg Pitchblack Pro, but let’s imagine your pedalboard is already overcrowded as it is. Some acoustic-electric guitars will have an onboard tuner in their pickup and preamp system, but otherwise a clip-on is your best bet.įor electric guitar players it is a little more complicated. ![]() For acoustic guitar players, it’s a no-brainer. There’s no question a tuner is an essential tool for 99% of guitarists out there. And besides, your tuner will help you make adjustments to your guitar’s intonation - so it can be in tune at all - and facilitate alternate tunings if that’s your bag. In the past, we might have tuned by ear to a tuning fork or reference pitch, and that was more or less good enough for rock’n’roll, but this approach takes training of the ear to be anywhere near accurate. That’s easy – because you are not a sadist and you wish to keep your bandmates and audience sane! There’s nothing worse than an out-of-tune guitar, or indeed the sound of a guitar tuning up. ![]() As many as seven in ten Gen Z respondents (70%) and two-thirds of Millennials (66%) say they want to become healthier. October 7th, 2020: Just-released global public opinion research shows that people all around the world are willing to adopt more sustainable and healthy behaviours, but they do not know where to start. Stanley was a creative genius and no doubt he knew his own strengths, but with 2001 he seems hell bent on using his vast intellect to inspire us with intelligent design and paradigm shifting concepts. The concept of Kubrick, Bowman or the viewer as a higher intellectual force is not necessarily an egotistic one. He has become the director of the film he is in and therefore is his own God. All this may well be communicating that having travelled outside the cinema frame and then back in, Bowman can now control the film content, including its musical score. Possibly related to this may be the mixed up and out of tune piano chords of the renaissance room, which are followed by an ensuing silence before Bowman's re-entry into the monolith and sudden repeat of the films opening theme. ![]() In both shots he is looking back over his right shoulder and both shots feature the same camera angle. The actor Keir Dullea, who plays Bowman, is seen in character at a computer console in one shot and out of character playing a keyboard in the other shot. Two production photos in particular seem to support this. Something else interesting is that if Bowman does indeed become his own film director then this would also give him control of the film's musical score. The position Bowman was stood in during the first of the three photos is virtually the same position that he walked to in the film before a sudden jump cut to him entering the bathroom. It's as if he has just stepped out of himself and met his own director. Then in the third photo he is sat down, but Kubrick is now standing in the position he just walked from. Next he is turning as if about to sit down. In the first shot Bowman is looking at the camera as if acknowledging us. The dimensions of the photo are also monolith shaped. As a further clue of the characters becoming their own Gods let's take a second look at the following production photos. Poole is sat staring at Stanley, who is leaning sideways as if saying “rotate me 90 degrees like you would the monolith” and again he’s dressed in black. Notice also that the astronauts are wearing white lab coats, which will be explored in a later chapter. It was also an interesting choice of Kubrick to feature plenty of still shots of the excavation scene considering that the characters are actually conducting a photo shoot within the film.Īnother production still offering similar God symbology hints is this one of Stanley in the artificial gravity section of the discovery. A possible implication here is that the monolith is a representation of Kubrick and that he is appearing to the astronauts as the intellectual creative force of their universe.Ī nice little pun on this idea is to think of the brick shaped monolith as a Stanley Ku”brick”. Standing in the middle of them is Kubrick himself, dressed in black with the monolith seen left screen in front of a floodlight. Is this a fluke or a confirmation that the helmet relfection of a crew member in the excavation site was deliberate?Īn interesting production still from the excavation scene shows the astronauts stood in a semi-circle. Again a mysterious crew member is reflected in the side of the helmet. One of the production stills shows Poole sat in the Discovery cockpit with his helmet on, even though in the movie he isn't wearing one while sitting in the cockpit. ![]() ![]() The close up has been contrast adjusted to emphasize the crew member reflection. It’s difficult to recognise who this person is, but it has been rumoured to be Stanley. A famous continuity error is that a crew member can be seen reflected in Heywood Floyd’s helmet as he walks around the monolith on the moon. There are a variety of other production aspects implying this. Because as film maker it is he who created the fictional universe as it is depicted in 2001. 2001: A Space Odyssey - in-depth analysis - by Rob Ager 2008Ī simple progression of the monolith / cinema screen relationship is that, for the films characters, Kubrick effectively represents God. This would suggest that recommendations for taurine levels are too low for canine as well as feline diets. ![]() Homemade diets were also found to be problematic for taurine content.ĭogs can also have taurine-responsive cardiac problems, which are especially prominent in certain breeds, most commonly the Golden Retriever, American Cocker Spaniel, and Newfoundland. Crude protein in most of these diets was above the recommended minimum, projecting a false idea of their nutritional adequacy. Taurine was the most common under-supplied nutrient. A recent in-depth nutritional analysis of 26 commercial plant-based diets found that none met the minimum nutritional standards recommended by AAFCO and FEDIAC. However, we still see cases of feline heart disease which are responsive to taurine. Its importance for cats in particular has prompted AAFCO to increase the recommended amounts of taurine in cat food. This is probably the most important supplement for the prevention and treatment of heart disease. Note that some of these heart problems are breed-related, so response to supplements can also be breed-related. This article provides an overview of cardiac-supportive supplements for dogs and cats. In dogs, we most often see chronic valvular disease, DCM, heartworm, and primary arrhythmias.
